Salonia Singh Therapy & Associates
Therapy for High Achievers in California
For accomplished professionals who look successful on the outside and feel never enough on the inside.
Book a free consultationTherapy for high achievers is specialized support for driven, accomplished professionals whose outward success can hide anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, and self-doubt. At Salonia Singh Therapy in California, sessions are evidence-based and culturally informed — so you can ease the pressure underneath without losing what makes you effective. We offer in-person care in West Los Angeles and Pasadena, and secure telehealth to anyone in California.
Many driven professionals reach a point where the strategies that built their success start working against them. Perfectionism keeps the bar moving. Imposter syndrome discounts every win. Burnout sets in even when nothing looks wrong from the outside. Our California practice offers specialized support for accomplished individuals — including many South Asian and BIPOC professionals carrying family expectations alongside their own ambitions — with offices in West Los Angeles and Pasadena, plus secure telehealth across the state. You do not have to choose between being effective and feeling well.
Who this is for
You do not have to relate to all of these. If a few feel familiar, this work may be for you.
Imposter syndrome
You have the track record, yet a part of you is braced to be found out and discounts every win as luck.
People-pleasing
You say yes before checking what you have left, and struggle to set boundaries without guilt.
Burnout
Exhaustion that sleep does not fix, irritability, or numbness toward things you used to care about.
Perfectionism
The finish line keeps moving, and nothing ever feels quite good enough to rest on.
Self-worth tied to achievement
One mistake or a slow quarter can feel like proof you are not enough as a person.
The weight of expectations
The cultural and family pressure of being the one who was meant to make the sacrifice worth it.
What sessions actually involve
Sessions are 50 minutes, one-on-one, with a clinician matched to what you are carrying. We do not hand you a workbook and call it therapy. The work is relational — meaning you talk, we listen carefully, and together we start to understand the patterns underneath the pressure: where they came from, how they are running your life now, and what a different relationship with yourself could look like.
Most clients start by naming the surface concern — "I can not stop working," "I feel hollow after a promotion," "I snap at people I love." The deeper work usually involves exploring the beliefs underneath: what you learned early about your worth, what "enough" actually means, and whether the inner critic that drove your success is now costing more than it earns. That is not abstract. It shows up in what changes between sessions — how you respond to a slow day, whether you can rest without guilt, how you speak to yourself after a mistake.
How we help
We are a group practice, so we match you to the clinician whose style and lived understanding fit what you are carrying. Our approach is warm but direct, evidence-based, and culturally informed.
- Modalities chosen for you, not a template: EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic work, and Gottman or Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.
- Room for the whole story: career, identity, family, and the parts of you that only surface when it is safe to stop performing.
- Care that respects South Asian and BIPOC experiences, with clinicians fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi.
The best therapy happens when you do not have to translate your world for your therapist.

Frequently asked questions
What is therapy for high achievers?
It is therapy tailored to accomplished, driven professionals whose success can mask anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, or self-worth tied to constant achievement. At Salonia Singh Therapy in California, it blends evidence-based methods with culturally informed care so you can address the pressure underneath the performance without losing your ambition.
What does therapy for high achievers actually involve in sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes, one-on-one, and relational rather than prescriptive. You talk about what you are carrying — burnout, perfectionism, the hollow feeling after a win — and together with your therapist you explore the patterns underneath: where the inner critic came from, what "enough" actually means, and what changes when your self-worth is no longer tied entirely to output. Most clients notice changes in how they respond to setbacks, rest, and self-talk within the first several sessions.
Will therapy make me less ambitious?
No. The goal is not to reduce your drive but to change your relationship with it. Many people find that as perfectionism and the need to constantly prove themselves ease, they keep their ambition while gaining more rest, clarity, and steadier self-worth. Ambition driven by security tends to be more sustainable than ambition driven by fear.
Do you work with South Asian and BIPOC high achievers specifically?
Yes. Many of the clients we support are South Asian, BIPOC, and first-generation professionals navigating the specific pressure of carrying both their own ambitions and their family's sacrifice. Our founder Salonia Singh is South Asian and first-generation, fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, and our team is intentionally diverse. You will not have to explain log kya kahenge or why "just set a boundary" is not simple advice in a collectivist family.
How much does therapy cost, and do you take insurance?
Session fees generally range from $150–$220 depending on the clinician and format. We are an out-of-network practice and do not bill insurance directly, but we provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible partial reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. We explain how that works during your free consultation so there are no surprises.
How do I get started, and do you offer online sessions?
You can book a free consultation through our contact page or call (818) 570-2527. We see clients in West Los Angeles and Pasadena, and offer secure telehealth to anyone located in California — including professionals in San Francisco, San Diego, the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Orange County. Sessions are 50 minutes, and as a group practice we work to match you with the therapist whose training and approach fit what you are navigating.
