Learn more about my experience, my approach, and my areas of speciality.

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Los Angeles, CA. I received my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.

I completed my clinical training in psychotherapy at the prestigious Maple Counseling Center, where I gained experience conducting ongoing psychotherapy with diverse populations of adult individuals and couples, of various ethnicities, sexual orientations, genders, and ages.

I have overseen the therapeutic treatment of adults navigating various mental health concerns such as; Marital and Relationship Conflict, Anxiety, Depression, Self Esteem concerns, Family conflict, Childhood trauma, Career transitions, Break ups, Intergenerational Trauma, and Life transitions.

As a woman of color, I aim to make therapeutic services accessible and effective for people of all different backgrounds and ages. I see my client’s experience of life holistically and through a culturally sensitive lens. I believe that reducing mental health stigma begins with normalizing the use of therapeutic services by having honest conversations around mental health in all communities. Guiding clients to live their most fulfilling lives is my passion, and sometimes the first step to that is healing the parts of ourselves that are holding us back.

I look forward to hearing from you!

My Philosophy.

As humans we are innately curious and constantly learning. We learn through our experiences and our social and familial environments. Often people begin therapy assuming the goal is simply learning new ways of thinking or acting. I like to think of therapy as a process of first, unlearning. Whether this in unlearning the harmful beliefs which impact our sense of self worth or the unhealthy coping mechanism we adapted to cope during stressful early childhood experiences. My goal as your therapist is to promote your overall well being. I believe that worry and anxiety lives in the future, regret and sadness in the past, but joy and contentment live in our present. I aim to connect you more deeply with your experience and understanding of yourself, your relationships, your career, and what brings you joy. You are allowed to live a life with purpose, joy, and intimate connection, and I believe that therapy can be the journey that takes you to that destination.

My Approach.

My clients experience me as sincere, direct, and highly engaged. I want to work with you collaboratively to tailor your therapy for your specific needs, because no one knows you better than you. I believe that there is an undeniable connection between the mind and body. Once we are able to mindfully increase our awareness of our mind body connection, we increase our ability to cope with stressful situations. I utilize techniques of mindfulness , to assist you in becoming present with every moment in your daily life. Helping you understand what limiting belief systems are blocking you from achieving joy and contentment. I also utilize techniques of humanistic and relational theories, because I believe that there is nothing more important in therapy than the therapeutic relationship. As humans, we want is to be seen and heard, and I make it a priority that your therapeutic space is a safe and collaborative environment.

Specialties.

In my practice, the majority of client’s I work with are those looking to work on; self esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and navigating complex family systems. I ensure that all therapeutic insights are viewed through a culturally sensitive lens. I believe there is no relationship more important, than the relationship we have with ourselves. Enhancing one’s feelings of self worth can be the catalyst for transformational change in all arenas of one’s life. I see my clients experience through their own cultural upbringing and perspective, ensuring your experience of life is understood, in a safe and supportive space. Due to my own cultural upbringing and experience, I have an intimate understanding when working with immigrants and first-generation immigrants. I aim to help you navigate the experience of coping with the expectations of culture and family obligation, and the balance between collectivistic and individualistic influences. I can also assist you in finding more fulfillment in your sex life, whether you are dealing with low sexual desire, difficulty orgasming, or general lack of sexual comfort, I am here to help you find your sexual freedom. I have experience working with many facets of romantic relationships, and aim to help you navigate these experiences. Whether you are in a long term relationship, dating, newly single, or going through a difficult break-up, therapy can be wonderful resource and support. Dating can be a challenging experience as in person connections continue to decrease, and I am here to assist you in your journey. Breakups are hard, and the wounds they leave can cause further pain in future relationships if left unhealed. Relationships take work, and this includes healthy communication, mutual respect, and empathy. I aim to provide my couples with the tools needed to achieve  a successful and thriving relationship. I use John and Julie Gottman’s scientifically backed method of couples therapy, when working with couples.
